Texas Rags can be purchased from a number of sporting goods outlets or on this web site (here). The rags come in colors – white for snow, dark brown for Canada and gray for blue goose, a medium brown for specs. The gray looks very much like the juvenile snow. Size is 3 foot square. Made from a plastic sheet material. Attach to a 3/8-inch-by-24-inch wooden dowel. Tie rag to dowel - 1st make a knot (at the top end with enough rag sticking out to be a goose head) and slip the dowel through the knot, pull tight. Then tie the two body corners together, tie them around the dowel about middle way down (they can fit tight or loose to slide up and down with the mph of the wind). With a desk stapler, staple the body seam of the rag from dowel to tail, about 6-inches apart. You now have a Texas Windsock. Consolidated Plastics sells a hot wire plastic sealer. The 12-inch one works best in sealing the bottom in lieu of staples. If you seal the bottom remember to leave an opening at the tail to drain water trapped inside the windsock.
If you don't get any smarter, getting older ain't worth the trouble.
