DUCKS UNLIMITED, INC. is a private nonprofit organization dedicated to conserving wetland habitat for waterfowl and other wildlife. Started in 1937, DU has chapters in Canada, Mexico & the US. DU works with Federal & State governments to help private landowners keep the habitat both breeding and wintering wetlands. Membership dues are $ 25.00 annually. DU helps all waterfowler. Every hunter wants organizations to do different things, travel a different course. DU does work with states and the federal government to add to the habitat in both mating and wintering grounds if that was all it would be enough. DU keeps abreast of pending federal and state laws that harm and help not only waterfowl but all marsh birds and animals, again just this would be enough to warrant your twenty-five dollars per year. DU promotes the sport for the young and the old. They create interest in waterfowl hunting with young children, the future and joy of learning about life that can't be found in the city. DU is the hub of the wheel, so to speak, of private interest in conservation.
