HUNTING TIPS - CLEANING WATERFOWL

Use latex gloves, gives a better grip while plucking or removing the skin, and helps protect hands from small cuts, pull up on shirtsleeves to keep shirt clean. Discard in the same trash bag with the waterfowl remains when finished. Can be found at most drug stores and paint stores in small and large packages. Cost is reasonable.

Always wear glasses or other eye protection while cleaning waterfowl. While pulling on skin, plucking feathers or cutting bone the chance is present for a bit of bone, shot, etc. to pot in your eye. Many a “cleaner” has gone to the eye doctor to have an eyeball scratch looked after. Don’t you be the next one.

Sears sells a Utility Shears, cost around $ 20.00. The blades are replaceable. These shears are durable, under Sears life time warranty and flat-out do the job of cutting legs and wings.
